In July this year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Untitled (Stations of a Pause) by Jitish Kallat. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 57,150.00 (€ 66,676.73), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jitish Kallat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Stations of a Pause) von Jitish Kallat zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 57.150,00 (€ 66.676,73) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jitish Kallat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.780.000,00 (€ 274.673,21).
