Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Afterwards (Versions of a Disappearing Act) by Jitish Kallat for GBP 2,016.00 (€ 2,371.63). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Discoveries at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jitish Kallat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 in November 2010 with an auction result of HKD 2,780,000.00 (€ 274,673.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Afterwards (Versions of a Disappearing Act) von Jitish Kallat für GBP 2.016,00 (€ 2.371,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jitish Kallat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Eclipse)- 5 im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.780.000,00 (€ 274.673,21).
