Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work After the Storm by Jervis McEntee was sold in the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in December 2004. It achieved a price of USD 41,825.00 (€ 30,894.52), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Jervis McEntee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gathering Firewood in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 130,500.00 (€ 124,463.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit After the Storm von Jervis McEntee wurde im Dezember 2004 in der Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 41.825,00 (€ 30.894,52) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jervis McEntee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gathering Firewood im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 130.500,00 (€ 124.463,52).
