Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A sacrifice to Venus: A vestal virgin sacrificing two doves on an altar surrounded by figures by Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier was sold in the Old Master Pictures and Drawings auction at Christies in London in December 2003. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 646.25 (€ 915.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Magnanimite de Lycurgue (The Magnanimity of Lycurgus) in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,050,000.00 (€ 908,933.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A sacrifice to Venus: A vestal virgin sacrificing two doves on an altar surrounded by figures von Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier wurde im Dezember 2003 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures and Drawings bei Christies in London versteigert.
