In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work A Female Turkish Bath Or Hammam by Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier. The »bidding war« ended at USD 716,000.00 (€ 645,452.09), 43% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 1,050,000.00 (€ 908,933.52) in October 2021 for the work La Magnanimite de Lycurgue (The Magnanimity of Lycurgus).
