Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait of a young lady, bust-length, with a white ruff collar sold for GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,445.05) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Magnanimite de Lycurgue (The Magnanimity of Lycurgus) in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,050,000.00 (€ 908,933.52).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a young lady, bust-length, with a white ruff collar für GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.445,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Jacques-François Le Barbier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Magnanimite de Lycurgue (The Magnanimity of Lycurgus) im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.050.000,00 (€ 908.933,52).
