Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Colonne, 1979 by Jean-Claude Farhi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 700.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at EUR 2,816.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Claude Farhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unique Dining Table in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 37,378.68).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Colonne, 1979 von Jean-Claude Farhi im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 700,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 2.816,00 mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Claude Farhi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unique Dining Table im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 37.378,68).
