This work without title by Jay DeFeo was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2013. It achieved a price of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,679.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jay DeFeo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Temple (For W.B.) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 172,146.29).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jay DeFeo kam im März 2013 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.679,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jay DeFeo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Temple (For W.B.) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 172.146,29).
