Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction By Women, For Tomorrow's Women, which included this untitled work by Jay DeFeo. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,906.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jay DeFeo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Temple (For W.B.) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 172,146.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion By Women, For Tomorrow's Women durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jay DeFeo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.906,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jay DeFeo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Temple (For W.B.) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 172.146,29).
