The work Target with Four Faces (ULAE 203) by Jasper Johns was sold in the Prints & Multiples auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 44,100.00 (€ 41,852.52), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jasper Johns achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Small False Start in November last year with an auction result of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Target with Four Faces (ULAE 203) von Jasper Johns wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Prints & Multiples bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 41.852,52) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jasper Johns erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Small False Start im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26).
