A top price for Jasper Johns - as previously expected
In November last year Christies in New York held the auction Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I, which included the work Small False Start by Jasper Johns. The price achieved of USD 55,350,000.00 (€ 53,618,134.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 45,000,000.00 – 65,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Small False Start is the most expensive artwork by Jasper Johns that we have observed at auctions so far.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 55.350.000,00 (€ 53.618.134,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 45.000.000,00 – 65.000.000,00 angegeben worden.
