In June 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Herinnering (Remembering) by Jan Verkade. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 200,000.00 (€ 226,034.08), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Verkade; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Herinnering, Fiesole - Reminiscence, Fiesole sold at auction in December 2001 with the realized price of EUR 248,750.00.

Im Juni 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Herinnering (Remembering) von Jan Verkade zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 226.034,08) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan Verkade; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Herinnering, Fiesole - Reminiscence, Fiesole im Dezember 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 248.750,00.
