The price achieved of EUR 37,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Jan de Baen have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain was auctioned for USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26).
