However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan de Baen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a boy, full-length, as Saint John the Baptist von Jan de Baen kam im Januar 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.848,34) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 42%.
