Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Jan van der Haer (b. 1655), three-quarter-length, in a gold brocade coat with a red cape, leaning against a pedestal, a garden beyond; and Portrait of Helena van der Haer, née Stoutenburgh (1663-1702), seated three-quarter-length in an o by Jan de Baen for EUR 14,340.00. This price was achieved in the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 15,000.0 Admittedly, works by Jan de Baen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain in May last year with an auction result of USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Jan van der Haer (b. 1655), three-quarter-length, in a gold brocade coat with a red cape, leaning against a pedestal, a garden beyond; and Portrait of Helena van der Haer, née Stoutenburgh (1663-1702), seated three-quarter-length in an o von Jan de Baen für EUR 14.340,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan de Baen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 64.579,26).
