Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work A Portrait of Mother and child, the lady three-quarter-length in a brown dress, supporting her child, who is seated on a ledge, holding flowers, and wearing a plumed cap by Jan de Baen for USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,201.33). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan de Baen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain in May last year with an auction result of USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Portrait of Mother and child, the lady three-quarter-length in a brown dress, supporting her child, who is seated on a ledge, holding flowers, and wearing a plumed cap von Jan de Baen für USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.201,33) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a man standing before a desk and curtain, three-quarter length; Portrait of a woman seated before a landscape and curtain im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 64.579,26).
