In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Dark Thoughts #1 (Belinda) by James White. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,484.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by James White have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Double Glass in May this year with an auction result of USD 40,640.00 (€ 38,145.30).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dark Thoughts #1 (Belinda) von James White zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.484,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James White auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Double Glass im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.640,00 (€ 38.145,30).
