Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 'James Van Derzee: Eighteen Photographs' by Jan van der Zee was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,967.05). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van der Zee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932, which sold at auction in December 2011 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 40,468.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 'James Van Derzee: Eighteen Photographs' von Jan van der Zee wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.967,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Zee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 40.468,67) versteigert wurde.
