Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Xxiii D) by James Turrell was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 352,800.00 (€ 39,075.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 280,000.00 – 400,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Turrell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orca, Blue-Red in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Xxiii D) von James Turrell wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 352.800,00 (€ 39.075,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 280.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Turrell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40).
