(60 mm.) high, silver-gilt frame with translucent blue guilloché enamel border flanked by two white enamel stripes, the reverse centred with a lock of brown hair bound with a scrolling gold bow on an oval translucent blue glass plaque on a radiant wavy guilloché foil with plaited brown hair surround within gold ribbon-twist borders

It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,674.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Scouler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work William Powell (1735/1736-1769), In Fur-Lined Blue Gown, White Shirt With Lace Collar And Cuffs, Seated On A Chair With His Left Arm Resting On The Chair Back, Holding In His Right Hand A Playbill For A Double Bill Of Cymbeline And George Colman The Elder, which sold at auction in November 2013 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,529.
