In April 2006 Christies in London held the auction Silver and Plate, Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu and Icons, which included the work A gentleman in gold-bordered green coat and waistcoat by James Scouler. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 480.00 (€ 692.78), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Scouler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work William Powell (1735/1736-1769), In Fur-Lined Blue Gown, White Shirt With Lace Collar And Cuffs, Seated On A Chair With His Left Arm Resting On The Chair Back, Holding In His Right Hand A Playbill For A Double Bill Of Cymbeline And George Colman The Elder in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit William Powell (1735/1736-1769), In Fur-Lined Blue Gown, White Shirt With Lace Collar And Cuffs, Seated On A Chair With His Left Arm Resting On The Chair Back, Holding In His Right Hand A Playbill For A Double Bill Of Cymbeline And George Colman The Elder im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.529,45).
