In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES, which included the work A young gentleman, in moss-green coat, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, powdered wig by James Scouler. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,524.00), 27% above the upper estimate. Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young gentleman, in moss-green coat, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, powdered wig von James Scouler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.524,00) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
