The »bidding war« ended at AUD 8,812.50 (€ 5,206.00), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Ranalph Jackson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Beach Scene, Narabeen North, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 31,200.00 (€ 18,656.87).
