Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Orwell, Shotley and Dovercourt by James Herbert Snell was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The price achieved of GBP 305.50 (€ 485.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Herbert Snell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The willow pool in July 2020 with an auction result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,692.54).
