Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Just In Time by James Elwood Reynolds was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,540.91). Admittedly, works by James Elwood Reynolds have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Touch and Go in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,448.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Just In Time von James Elwood Reynolds im März 2009 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.540,91) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Elwood Reynolds auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Touch and Go im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.448,02).
