Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction Western Art, which included the work Watching the Herd by James Elwood Reynolds. The price achieved of USD 10,837.50 (€ 9,816.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Elwood Reynolds - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Touch and Go, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,448.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watching the Herd von James Elwood Reynolds zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.837,50 (€ 9.816,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Elwood Reynolds mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Touch and Go beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.448,02) versteigert wurde.
