Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Two Riders by James Elwood Reynolds. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,680.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Elwood Reynolds - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Touch and Go, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,448.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Riders von James Elwood Reynolds zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.680,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von James Elwood Reynolds mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Touch and Go beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.448,02) versteigert wurde.
