Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Q-1953 by James Brooks. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 48,143.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Brooks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work M-51, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 187,500.00 (€ 165,592.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Q-1953 von James Brooks zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 48.143,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von James Brooks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit M-51 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für USD 187.500,00 (€ 165.592,16) versteigert wurde.
