Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Two Dancers And A Flutist, Bust Length by Jacques-Louis David. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,750.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Louis David achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,209,000.00 (€ 4,630,652.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Dancers And A Flutist, Bust Length von Jacques-Louis David zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.750,22) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Louis David erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.209.000,00 (€ 4.630.652,62).
