Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and British Drawings, which included the work Three Women In Classical Dress, Bust Length, With Anguished Expressions by Jacques-Louis David. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,625.00 (€ 14,424.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Louis David achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,209,000.00 (€ 4,630,652.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Women In Classical Dress, Bust Length, With Anguished Expressions von Jacques-Louis David zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.625,00 (€ 14.424,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Louis David erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.209.000,00 (€ 4.630.652,62).
