In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work Standing Antique Female Figure, Wearing A Laurel Wreath And Holding Her Stole by Jacques-Louis David. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 7,088.32), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Louis David achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,209,000.00 (€ 4,630,652.62).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Antique Female Figure, Wearing A Laurel Wreath And Holding Her Stole von Jacques-Louis David zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 7.088,32) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Louis David erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.209.000,00 (€ 4.630.652,62).
