Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of Georges-Jacques Danton, Bust Length, In Profile To The Left by Jacques-Louis David was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. The price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 27,679.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Louis David achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,209,000.00 (€ 4,630,652.62).
