Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jacques-Louis David achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Andromache Mourning Hector sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 71,966.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques-Louis David achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,209,000.00 (€ 4,630,652.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques-Louis David erzielte im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Andromache Mourning Hector für USD 81.250,00 (€ 71.966,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacques-Louis David erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.209.000,00 (€ 4.630.652,62).
