The »bidding war« ended at USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,407.35), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Lorimer Gray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Running Before The Trades in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 145,875.00 (€ 170,262.25).

Die Arbeit Ships At Sea: Four Watercolors von Jack Lorimer Gray wurde im April 2014 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.407,35) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Lorimer Gray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Running Before The Trades im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.875,00 (€ 170.262,25).
