This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ivy Haldeman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Colossus, Lips, Two Fingers Enter Left, Toes Touch Top sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).
