Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ivy Haldeman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in December last year. In the New Now auction, the work Full Figure, Right Knee Down, Flung Shoe, Hand Grasps Elbow Above Head sold for GBP 40,320.00 (€ 45,517.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ivy Haldeman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Colossus, Lips, Two Fingers Enter Left, Toes Touch Top, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).
