A top price for Ivan Chuikov
This artwork by Ivan Chuikov achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Post-War and Contemporary Russian Art from a Private Collection auction, the work Fake sold for GBP 214,200.00 (€ 255,495.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. This high result makes Fake the most expensive artwork by Ivan Chuikov that we have observed at auctions so far.
