four etchings (U.A. 141 with aquatint), 1945; 1946; 1967 and circa 1960 respectively, all on wove paper, all signed in pencil, numbered 'XV/XXV'; 'XVI/XXV'; 96/100; and 'IX/XXV' respectively, all with wide margins, all apparently in excellent condition, one examined out of the frame (4)

Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ice Cream Cones #2; Man at Fountain; Three with Coats; and Subway Rider (University of Arizona Museum of Art 116; 119; 141 and not cited) by Isabel Bishop was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 717.00 (€ 665.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isabel Bishop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude by Stream in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 49,350.00 (€ 51,702.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ice Cream Cones #2; Man at Fountain; Three with Coats; and Subway Rider (University of Arizona Museum of Art 116; 119; 141 and not cited) von Isabel Bishop im Februar 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 717,00 (€ 665,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isabel Bishop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude by Stream im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 49.350,00 (€ 51.702,46).
