This artwork by Isaac Ouwater achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2003. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work A view of Amsterdam from the 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with travellers on a towpath by the tollgate and a couple on a ferry sold for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 43,734.48) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Ouwater - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side, which sold at auction in May 2003 for EUR 164,450.00.

Für andere Arbeiten von Isaac Ouwater mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für EUR 164.450,00 versteigert wurde.
