Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS, which included the work The Brouwersgracht and the Lijnbaansgracht, Amsterdam, with the rope maker 't Fortuin and the Bullebak sluice, the Haarlemmerpoort in the distance by Isaac Ouwater. It changed hands for a price of EUR 77,675.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Ouwater - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side, which sold at auction in May 2003 for EUR 164,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Brouwersgracht and the Lijnbaansgracht, Amsterdam, with the rope maker 't Fortuin and the Bullebak sluice, the Haarlemmerpoort in the distance von Isaac Ouwater zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 77.675,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Isaac Ouwater mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für EUR 164.450,00 versteigert wurde.
