In January this year Bonhams held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Online, which included the work The Buffalo Shed by Inji Efflatoun. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,682.87), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Inji Efflatoun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Egyptian'Ahlam Almuetaqala (Dreams Of The Detainee) in April 2018 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 78,298.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Buffalo Shed von Inji Efflatoun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.682,87) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Inji Efflatoun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Egyptian'Ahlam Almuetaqala (Dreams Of The Detainee) im April 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 78.298,93).
