In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints, which included the work Galleons by Ian Davis. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,860.75), 46% above the upper estimate. With this result, Galleons is even the most expensive work of art by Ian Davis that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Galleons von Ian Davis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.860,75) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
