In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale, which included the work Mr Metekol by Nyoman Masriadi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 693,000.00 (€ 83,063.73), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Nyoman Masriadi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Man From Bantul (The Final Round) in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,820,000.00 (€ 795,442.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mr Metekol von Nyoman Masriadi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 83.063,73) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nyoman Masriadi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Man From Bantul (The Final Round) im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.820.000,00 (€ 795.442,36).
