In June 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Open House, which included the work Industrial Landscape by Hughie Lee-Smith. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 14,287.53), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hughie Lee-Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indecision II in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 104,921.36).

Im Juni 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Open House durch, in der auch die Arbeit Industrial Landscape von Hughie Lee-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 14.287,53) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hughie Lee-Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indecision II im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 104.921,36).
