In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Study for 'Man Standing on His Head' by Hughie Lee-Smith. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,422.45), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hughie Lee-Smith have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Indecision II in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 104,921.36).

Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for 'Man Standing on His Head' von Hughie Lee-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.422,45) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hughie Lee-Smith auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Indecision II im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 104.921,36).
