A top price for Hugh Sawrey - as previously expected
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango by Hugh Sawrey. The price achieved of AUD 45,600.00 (€ 27,267.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango is the most expensive artwork by Hugh Sawrey that we have observed at auctions so far.
