Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Flash Danny by Hugh Sawrey. It changed hands for a price of AUD 6,600.00 (€ 3,946.65) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hugh Sawrey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 45,600.00 (€ 27,267.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Flash Danny von Hugh Sawrey zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 6.600,00 (€ 3.946,65) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Sawrey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 45.600,00 (€ 27.267,74).
