This artwork by Hugh Sawrey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006. In the Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II auction, the work Catching The Horses, Diamantina Lakes Station, Western Queensland sold for AUD 10,755.00 (€ 6,468.85) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hugh Sawrey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 45,600.00 (€ 27,267.74).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Hugh Sawrey erzielte im April 2006 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II wurde die Arbeit Catching The Horses, Diamantina Lakes Station, Western Queensland für AUD 10.755,00 (€ 6.468,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Sawrey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 45.600,00 (€ 27.267,74).
