Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Crossing The Dogwood, Southern Queensland by Hugh Sawrey. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 16,730.00 (€ 9,744.76). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hugh Sawrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 45,600.00 (€ 27,267.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crossing The Dogwood, Southern Queensland von Hugh Sawrey zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 16.730,00 (€ 9.744,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Hugh Sawrey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Shearing On The Boards At Bindi-Bango beobachtet, die im August 2007 für AUD 45.600,00 (€ 27.267,74) versteigert wurde.
