Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Visible Difference by Howard Kanovitz was auctioned at Bonhams in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 63.75 (€ 59.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Howard Kanovitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work One By Threes in July 2020 with an auction result of EUR 62,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Visible Difference von Howard Kanovitz im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 63,75 (€ 59,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Howard Kanovitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit One By Threes im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 62.500,00.
